Performance Comparison Modeling Between Single-phase Cycloconverters and Three-phase Cycloconverters Using Matlab Simulink Tools

This paper presents a performance comparison of single-phase AC to converter (cycloconverter) and three-phase circuit which divides the input wave frequency (fin) into variable with value output voltage waveform (alternating current) (f, fin/2, fin/3, fin/4, fin/5, fin/6, fin/7, fin/8, fin/9, fin/10. Cycloconvertor switches are built using diode thyristor device. research was conducted by modeling each cycloconverter Matlab Simulink tools. Modeling simulation parameters be analyzed include RMS (root mean square) value, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) index for wave. The is affected variation trigger signal P-side (positive) N (negative) side switch. Simulation results show that adjusting firing pulse width P will produce an has THD, Vrms, form factor circuit.
